Styrian cultural initiatives enable a diverse cultural life for the local population. As local cultural providers, they are an inseparable part of local communities, bring innovation, social and economic impulses and are indispensable for quality of life and well-being in communities and cities. Now they are under serious threat!

Throughout Styria, cultural associations offer numerous opportunities for cultural participation and involvement, promote the development of personal skills and competencies and have a democracy-promoting effect through their artistic content, forms and formats.

Over 11,600 people are employed in the arts and culture sector in Styria. Through their work, they generate an annual added value of over 625 million euros. In addition, there are numerous volunteers in cultural organizations whose commitment would not be possible without the supporting work of sponsored associations.

Furthermore, culture in Styria is a key factor for the image and attractiveness of the location. It counteracts the emigration of people, especially qualified workers, and companies. This potential must be strengthened and not destroyed!
