Balanced cultural funding requires competent expert assessments in accordance with the State Cultural Funding Act! Furthermore, according to the Cultural Strategy 2030, party political influence should be reduced and independent expertise given priority. The current Cultural Board of Trustees does not adequately meet these requirements and must therefore be reappointed in a transparent manner.
According to Section 9 of the Culture and Arts Promotion Act 2005, the Cultural Board of Trustees is appointed for a period of three years. The Cultural Board of Trustees, which was replaced in February 2025, was appointed together with the experts on 01.01.2024 for the term of office until 31.12.2026. A reshuffle within the current term of office has never taken place in the form now implemented. This politically motivated change of the central evaluation committee is in stark contrast to the objectives of the Cultural Strategy 2030, which envisages a depoliticization of committees by establishing transparent and apolitical selection and recommendation procedures as well as the transparent appointment of advisory and expert committee members.
